  • An automobile fleet is considered 5 commercially rated, common use vehicles under one company name. These vehicles can be regular passenger automobiles used by salesmen, pick-up trucks, smaller vans or large commercial vehicles used to ship goods. There are certain conditions that allow the owner of a business to include his personal vehicle under a fleet policy.

Personal

  • Property valuation is the process of coming up with a dollar value that the insurer would need to pay a contractor should your home need replacement, rebuilding or repairing. Taken into account are aspects such as: quality and value of materials needed, use of specialized contractors or trades, time urgency (usually within months to one year), as well as the accessibility of the location, to mention a few. The end value is what insurance companies refer to as the “replacement cost” of your home.

Specialty

  • A basic property insurance policy covers the structure and contents that you own and/or lease in order to run your business. What it doesn’t cover, are the complex systems, machines, or other technology that may be required by you to keep your business moving; such as telephone systems, electrical systems, production machinery, computers, air conditioners, furnaces and/or boilers or other pressure vessels, to name a few. These would need to be insured under a Boiler & Equipment breakdown policy.

Life & Financial

  • Key Person Insurance is important as the death of a key person in a small or large company can often cause the immediate death of that company. Look at your business and think about who is irreplaceable in the short term. In many small businesses it is the founder who holds the company together – he may keep the books, manage the employees, and handle the key customers and so on. Ask yourself, if that person was suddenly gone, would your business pretty well stop?
  • It is estimated there are over 70,000 heart attacks in Canada each year. There are between 40,000 and 50,000 strokes in Canada each year. An estimated 160,000 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer this year. Critical Illness Coverage can help protect your family from the financial burden of the unfortunate effects of serious medical conditions.
